Welcome! Music Together® is an internationally recognized early childhood music program for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, kindergarteners, and the adults who love them. First offered to the public in 1987, it pioneered the concept of a research-based, developmentally appropriate early childhood music curriculum that strongly emphasizes and facilitates adult involvement. Music Together applies the latest research in early childhood music development.
Songbird Consulting is dedicated to bringing the Music Together philosphy and training to our community in the Inland Northwest! Our Music Together Center is the largest in Spokane! Our teachers are all licensed and certified, Music Together teachers. Your family is sure to enjoy our treasured 12 song collections (see above). Central to the Music Together® approach is that young children learn best from the powerful role model of parents/caregivers who are actively making music. The program brings families together by providing a rich musical environment in the classroom and by facilitating family participation in spontaneous musical activity at home within the context of daily life. For more info on the philosophy of family classes, visit the website for Music Together.

In Music Together Generations® classes, teachers and families foster meaningful musical relationships across the ages, as “Musical Grandfriends” join the music-making circle. Expanding the class community in this way enriches the experience for families and makes these classes some of the most satisfying to teach.
Classes are typically held in residential facilities, such as independent living, assisted living, or nursing homes, or in day programs, such as senior centers or intergenerational day care programs with preschool classes. Elders are invited, but never pressured, to participate in class, with the support of an on-site staff member, and are respected as important music models.
Join our Spokane and Spokane Valley family classes today! Prices for families are the same as our Mixed Ages classes and are always FREE to visiting "Grand Friends!" Watch this heartwarming video below to preview:

You might be wondering what your newborn could possibly take away from a music class and how old they have to be before they can benefit. At Songbird Consulting Music Together, we know it's never too early to get babies started in class! Your little one is a natural-born music-maker, ready to start learning music at birth. As in everything, you are your baby's first and best teacher. But don't get nervous! When you sing in the car and dance in the living room, you're showing your baby how to make music and that making music is important to your family. That's all your baby needs from you—musically, at least! (Food, clothing, and shelter are useful, too.)
In the Music Together Babies class, for infants from birth through 8 months, you'll learn a lot of fun musical activities for babies. You'll also learn to recognize which of your baby's behaviors are musical so that you can support their development at the time when your baby's brain is at its most receptive. The Babies class has other benefits, too! Singing and dancing with your baby is a beautiful way for the two of you to bond. And making music with other parents of newborns is a great way to make new friends in your community who are as sleep deprived as you!
